Linderhof

History

Castle Linderhof lies in the Graswangtal with Oberammergau and was built under king Ludwig II from in 1874-1878 as a royal castle. It should substitute for the small royal castle of his father Max II. In the course of the construction work, nevertheless, it was not torn off, but only was moved. Linderhof Castle is the smallest one of three castles Ludwigs and the only what was completed. In the castle park, beside the castle lie the Venusgrotte, the Maurische kiosk, the Moroccan house and called king's small house.
