History

The castle hohenschwangau stands opposite from the castle neuschwanstein the local part hohenschwangau of the municipality Schwangau in Bavaria.
For the first time the castle hohenschwangau became in 12.Century as castle schwanstein documentary mentioned and was seat of the knights of schwangau. In the following centuries the castle was destroyed by wars and the owners changed. Crown Prince Maximillian II. the ruin and it acquired in the style of the neo-gothic style until 1837 were converted and are also today still in this style to be visited in the year 1832.

The names of the castles schwanstein and front and rear hohenschwangau became at the beginning 19.Century exchanges, from first hohenschwangau became and from latter neuschwanstein.
The lock served the royal family as summer residence and was the child room Ludwig II. Its nut/mother Marie of Bavaria lived after the death of her son still nearly three years in the castle hohenschwangau before you deceased there.
The today's owner of the lock is the Wittelsbacher equalization fund and the interior arrangement from the Biedermeier period remained still invariably.
