The castle hohenschwangau stands opposite from the castle neuschwanstein the local part hohenschwangau of the municipality Schwangau in Bavaria.
For the first time the castle hohenschwangau became in 12.Century as castle schwanstein documentary mentioned and was seat of the knights of schwangau.
