Maximilian I. (Maximilian Joseph) became to 27.May 1756 in Schwetzingen born and originated from a Pfälzer collateral line of the family Wittelsbacher. Its parents were Friedrich Michael, Duke of Pfalz Birkenfeld Bischweiler (1724-1767) and Marie Franziska of Sulzbach.
